If your VB projects include many ActiveX components and VBPs, then you probably already experienced compatibility problems and wrong references.

This can happen when loading a VBP and when executing your application.

VB Smart Build automatically corrects the VBPs to fix component reference problems, and builds the VBPs in the correct order so that all references are up to date and aligned with the latest version of each component.

You can break compatibility, compile with project compatibility, or binary compatibility.

Also VBSmartBuild is a convenient way to:

rebuild a project and all its dependent projects

perform incremental builds, compiling only modified projects.
manage conditional compilation arguments

search for a VBP and open it in VB

create VBGs on the fly and open it in VB

open a project folder to manage the project files

see references and dependent projects

update the VBPs in SourceSafe, and update the compatible binary files for ActiveX EXEs, OCXs, DLLs stored in SourceSafe as well.
