Parent Server Changer allows a network administrator to easily change the parent server of any managed NAVCE 7.5 - 8.0 clients on the network without reinstallation of the client. This package also includes a command-line version for use with batch files, logon scripts, or even SMS software distribution packages. The command-line version also has the ability to change the parent server remotely.
Features:
Easier to use interface--
You can now view the currently assigned parent server in a separate label so that you don't need to retype, or cut-&-paste the new parent server name each time you change a client.
Faster client registration--
This feature will restart the Antivirus client service on save. This allows the client computer to register with the new parent server immediately, which usually takes effect the next time the client computer is restarted. The new client will update the lists in Symantec Systems Center console shortly after saving.
Custom computer list import--
This feature allows you to import a customized list of computers from a plain text file.
Connectivity checking--
PSC now tests selected computers for connectivity before attempting to connect to it. This alleviates any unnecessary lag time previously experience when a computer was offline.
Computer list refresh--
The computer list can now be refreshed without restarting PSC.
